What you will do:

• Chair and manage Child Protection Conferences, ensuring that the care plans for children are appropriate and effective.
• Review the progress and quality of care plans for children in the care system, ensuring their welfare is always prioritised.
• Uphold and promote children's rights and ensure their voices are allocated a strong emphasis in planning and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, carers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to child welfare.
• Provide guidance and advice to ensure statutory compliance and promote best practices within the team.

Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:

• Possess a degree or equivalent in social work.
• Have current registration with Social Work England.
• Substantial frontline experience within UK Social Services as a qualified social worker, providing you with the expertise to flourish in this role.
