Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a dedicated team in Luton on an initial two-month locum assignment, with the potential for extension.

You will manage a caseload, provide one-to-one keyworking support and work collaboratively with partner services to help individuals achieve sustainable recovery outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify service users' needs, strengths and goals.
  • Develop personalised recovery plans in partnership with service users.
  • Provide one-to-one support and effective keyworking to individuals experiencing drug and alcohol-related difficulties.
  • Manage an allocated caseload, monitoring progress and adapting support where appropriate.
  • Promote harm reduction approaches and provide education around safer choices and recovery.
  • Support service users to understand different recovery models and encourage positive lifestyle changes.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, specialist services and other partner agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records of assessments, interventions and service-user progress.
  • Promote a person-centred, recovery-focused approach throughout your work.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant experience working within substance misuse, drugs and alcohol services.
  • Proven experience managing a caseload of service users.
  • Experience providing one-to-one support and keyworking.
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery and harm reduction approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships with service users and partner agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to promoting person-centred and recovery-focused support.
