Job Advert: Healthcare Assistants and Senior Care Assistants - Large Residential Home for the Elderly

Position Titles: Healthcare Assistant (HCA) & Senior Care Assistant (SCA)
Location: Swaffham
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Shifts Available: Days, Nights, or Flexible Working Hours

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of the elderly?
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants and Senior Care Assistants to join our friendly team at our large residential home for elderly residents. With over 50 beds, our home provides a supportive and enriching environment for residents and staff alike.



About the Role

Healthcare Assistants (HCA):
As an HCA, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily needs, promoting independence, and ensuring they receive person-centered care.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.).
  • Supporting residents during meal times.
  • Helping with mobility and promoting physical activity.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support.
  • Monitoring residents' health and reporting any changes to the senior team.

Senior Care Assistants (SCA):
As an SCA, you will take on additional responsibilities, including leading shifts and mentoring junior staff.

Your duties will include:

  • Overseeing the delivery of care and ensuring it meets individual care plans.
  • Administering medication and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting the Home Manager in implementing care policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for residents' families and healthcare professionals.
  • Assisting with training and development of team members.


What We're Looking For



Healthcare Assistants:

  • A caring and compassionate attitude.
  • Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Senior Care Assistants:

  • Previous experience in a care role, preferably with elderly residents.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
