  • Brain Injury Support Worker - Southport, Lancashire

    Pay Rate: £16.22 per hour

    Working Hours:
    • Monday (either 5pm - 8pm or 6pm - 9pm)
    • Alternate Saturdays (10am - 4pm)
    • Flexibility to pick up additional shifts as needed
    About the Client:Our client has reduced mobility, pain, shortness of breath, dysphasia, hearing loss, and other psychological and cognitive symptoms. As a result, they experience a reduced functional capacity in daily living activities.

    Role Overview:The successful candidate will support the client with daily routines, health management, and emotional care. This is a crucial role requiring experience in brain injury support and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist with personalized routines and daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
    • Administer medication and monitor health conditions.
    • Provide emotional support and companionship.
    • Maintain accurate care records and report any changes in the client's condition.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
    Requirements:
    • Proven experience in a similar support role, especially with brain injury.
    • Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
    • Ability to manage challenging behaviours.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work the required hours.

    Training & Background Checks:
    • An enhanced DBS check and full training will be provided before starting with the client.
    • Ongoing support will be provided by the clinical lead nurse for the area.
