What you will do:

- Chair Looked After Child (LAC) Reviews to assess whether care plans meet the child's needs and make recommendations for improvements.

- Ensure care plans are updated and implemented effectively, advocating tirelessly for the child's needs and preferences.

- Make sure the child's wishes and feelings are heard and taken into account, promoting their best interests and challenging poor practices when necessary.

- Monitor the local authority's performance to ensure statutory duties are met, escalating issues if the child's needs are not being met.

- Raise concerns if care plans are not followed and escalate issues through the dispute resolution process to ensure the child's welfare is safeguarded.

- Work with social workers, foster carers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to care planning.

- Monitor placements to ensure stability in the children's living arrangements, supporting plans for adoption, long-term fostering, or reunification with family.
