Exciting Opportunity for a Social Worker - Interim Strategic Commissioning Manager within Adults in Darlington, earning £38 hourly! Based in the vibrant town of Darlington, this role supports the Children & Adult's Service Management Team in strategically commissioning effective services that align with council objectives.

What you will do:

* Oversee and manage the planning, commissioning, and implementation of services, ensuring high-quality outcomes by identifying needs and adjusting provisions accordingly.

* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant providers, monitoring their performance, and ensuring quality assurance in collaboration with the Contracts Team.

* Embed the Council's strategic objectives within commissioning systems and processes.

* Implement strategies to enhance service performance while regularly monitoring progress.

* Collaborate with senior managers to determine local priorities that meet clients' needs and ensure the correct mix of support provision.

* Contribute to workforce planning and the execution of relevant development plans.

* Represent the service and deputise for the Lead Strategic Commissioning and Contract Manager when required.

* Manage provider and stakeholder relationships, ensuring their voices contribute to the development of new service arrangements.

* Support negotiations with independent and private sector providers to commission services meeting local need.

* Work collaboratively with commissioners across the Tees Valley and the wider UK, sharing best practices for improved service delivery models.

What you need to be successful:

* Degree-level education or equivalent.

* Approximately 5 years of experience in managing commissioning, contracting, and brokerage functions.

* Proven track record in staff and project management, as well as managing safeguarding systems.

* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance.

* Collaborative leadership style with the ability to adapt, excellent analytical skills, and IT proficiency.

* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.

* Resilient, with excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
