enior Care Assistant - Specialist Dementia Care Home in Ingatestone

Location: Ingatestone, Essex

Position: Senior Care Assistant

Specialization: Elderly Dementia Care

Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

About Us: We are a dedicated residential care home in Ingatestone, Essex, specializing in providing compassionate and individualized care for elderly residents living with dementia. Our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where our residents can thrive, maintaining their dignity and independence.

Role Overview: As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care to our residents. You will lead and support a team of care assistants, ensuring that all care practices align with our commitment to excellence and the specific needs of individuals with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care & Support: Provide comprehensive personal care to residents, including assistance with mobility, toileting, washing, and dressing, while encouraging and promoting their independence.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor care assistants, facilitating comprehensive inductions for new staff and conducting regular personal development plans to maintain high standards of care.

  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Resident Well-being: Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, ensuring effective communication and a supportive environment that respects individual preferences and needs.

  • Health & Safety: Identify and report potential risks within the home, adhere to emergency procedures, and ensure the safe use of manual handling techniques and equipment.



Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards qualification).
  • Proven experience in a residential care or dementia care setting.
  • Experience in administering medication.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
