Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Experienced Social Worker within the Children & Young People Disability Team to work Full Time based in Medway.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £53,385 per annum.

Main duties:

* Manage a caseload within a framework of appropriate reflective supervision, undertaking focused, analytical assessments, SMART plans and reviews that have clear objectives and outcome measures in order to ensure that all vulnerable children and young adults with disabilities receive a service that reflects the Council's committed to child and adult safeguarding and meaningful transition into young adulthood.

* Demonstrate and model good practice that reflects a committed to relationship and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with disabled children, young people and their families.

* Work directly with disabled children and young people to establish their loved experiences wishes and feelings, using a variety of techniques, as required.

* Prepare clear, structured and concise reports for meetings, i.e Child Protection Conferences, strategy meetings, Looked After Children Reviews, Children in Need meetings, and court proceedings as necessary, to the required standard and within the prescribed timescales.

* Keep up to date with research findings, theoretical models and innovative practice within the social work field in order to maintain the highest professional standards.

* Participate in regular reflective supervision with your manager to review casework and critically reflect on, and identify any areas of learning.

* Keep up to date with the Council's organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research and national trends in order to maintain the highest professional standards.

* At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.

* Understanding of relevant legislation.

* Registered or eligible for registration.
