Role Overview:

This specialist position within the Adult Safeguarding Hub seeks an experienced Senior Social Worker with at least four years of post-qualified experience in adult safeguarding. Your role involves leading crucial safeguarding efforts to protect adults at risk, promoting their rights to live safely and independently.

What you will do:

- Lead Safeguarding Enquiries: Oversee enquiries into abuse or neglect, ensuring adherence to local safeguarding procedures and legislation such as the Care Act 2014.

- Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify, assess, and manage risks, balancing protection with individual choice and control.

- Develop Care Plans: Create person-centred plans that integrate safeguarding measures and promote independence and wellbeing.

- Collaborate: Work with multi-agency teams, including health services, police, and local authorities, to prevent harm and ensure coordinated approaches.

- Advocate: Champion the voices of adults at risk in discussions, ensuring their perspectives influence decision-making.

- Supervise Staff: Provide professional guidance to junior staff, fostering their growth in safeguarding practices.

- Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of safeguarding concerns, interventions, and outcomes.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- Social Work degree or equivalent with registration from Social Work England.

- Minimum four years of post-qualified experience, particularly in adult safeguarding.

- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act 2014, and key safeguarding principles.

- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments, lead enquiries, and work collaboratively.

Additional Requirements:

- Enhanced DBS clearance.

- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and personalisation.

- Valid UK driving licence for potential travel across the area.
