We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Lewes , a category B Prison located in East Sussex.
HMP Lewes is a busy remand male prison with a capacity for around 750 inmates. You will be working within the Substance Misuse Team supporting patients with their recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £31,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker , your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
- Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
- You'll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
