What you will do:

* Support the manager to develop an intensive, high-quality access team that serves as a crucial front door for services to families, addressing varying levels of need.

* Manage risk and make pivotal decisions about the threshold of need for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

* Collaborate closely with the team manager, social workers, early support officers, i-ART officers, and staff from diverse disciplines to ensure comprehensive care and support.

* Perform social work practices, focusing on vulnerable children and their families as well as vulnerable adults.

* Establish clear and effective referral pathways to provide the right level of support to children, families, and vulnerable adults.

* Conduct thorough assessments to determine appropriate care needs and thresholds.

* Provide expert advice and decision-making support to team officers when handling complex and high-risk cases, including child protection and Section 47 inquiries.

* Offer guidance and consultation to external agencies and the general public, maintaining high standards in safeguarding and care planning practices.
