What you will do:

* Chair Looked After Children (LAC) reviews, leading with discernment and dedication to ensure every child's needs are voiced and met.

* Conduct quality assurance by scrutinising care plans to align them with legal frameworks and best practices.

* Safeguard children's rights and priorities through advocacy and ensuring their welfare is at the forefront of all decisions.

* Collaborate effectively with social workers, carers, education providers, and healthcare professionals to support children in care.

* Engage in case auditing, raising concerns as necessary about care planning, safeguarding risks, or service quality.

* Ensure all care plans comply with the Children Act 1989, IRO Handbook, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

* Challenge poor practice diligently and strive for decisions that always serve the best interests of the child.

Requirements:

* Social Work England registration is essential.

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.

* Considerable experience in child protection, safeguarding, or Looked After Children (LAC) teams.

* Profound knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practices concerning looked-after children.

* Outstanding communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

* Ability to work independently and challenge practices when necessary.
