Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding and Child Protection Team in Taunton. This role offers flexible working hours , allowing you to choose between full-time or part-time work while earning a competitive hourly rate of £38.00 .

As part of a dedicated and dynamic team , you will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and supporting families in need. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, multi-agency environment , ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

* Child Protection Assessments - Conduct Section 47 Child Protection Investigations , assessing risks, needs, and protective factors to determine appropriate interventions.

* Caseload Management - Hold and manage a diverse and complex caseload , including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court proceedings .

* Court Work & Legal Proceedings - Prepare high-quality court reports, care plans, and legal statements ; attend family court hearings and provide evidence as required.

* Multi-Agency Collaboration - Work closely with health professionals, education providers, police, and other agencies to ensure effective child safeguarding. Participate in Child Protection Conferences, Strategy Meetings, and Core Group Meetings .

* Family Support & Interventions - Provide direct support, interventions, and guidance to children and families, using evidence-based approaches to improve family dynamics and outcomes.

* Care Planning - Develop and implement care and safety plans , ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.

Essential Requirements

* Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).

* Registered with Social Work England .

* Previous experience in Child Protection, Safeguarding, or similar statutory social work settings .

* Strong analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills .

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team .
